Responsibilities
- Perform thorough manual testing of Business Intelligence (BI) reports to ensure accuracy, functionality, and reliability.
- Review and analyze requirements, specifications, and design documents to create comprehensive test cases.
- Execute test cases and document test results, including identifying and reporting defects and tracking their resolution.
- Collaborate with the Product Management, TPO and BI team to understand report requirements, data sources, and business logic to effectively test and validate reports.
- Validate the data integrity and correctness of BI reports by comparing them against the source data and conducting data quality checks.
- Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot any issues or anomalies encountered during testing and provide detailed reports.
- Assist in the identification and implementation of test automation opportunities to streamline the testing process.
- Continuously improve testing methodologies and processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality BI reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, tools, and trends related to BI testing and reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Manual Tester or Quality Assurance Analyst, preferably in a BI or data-centric environment.
- Understanding of Business Intelligence concepts, data warehousing, and reporting methodologies.
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and validation.
- Solid knowledge of testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Familiarity with BI reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools is a plus.
